SUPERB CONDITION MODEL 1950 .44 SPECIAL TARGET (PRE-24, 5 SCREW .44 HAND-EECTOR 4TH MODEL), #S 139XXX, MADE 1954-1955. Only 5500 of these were manufactured from 1950-1957. At serial number approx. 175000 in 1956 the upper side plate screw was eliminated with those after being “4-screw models. So, the 5-screw examples had a run of five years with very limited production. This example with 6 ½” barrel shows no real use and aside from a light cylinder line and a touch of wear (barely) at the extreme muzzle edge, it retains all the original blue, even on the front face of the cylinder. All matching numbers including on the inside of the sharply diamond checkered grips. Excellent case color on the hammer and trigger. Extremely tight action and bright sharp bore. These were hard to acquire when new (!) and even more so now.
