This is a very early M1 Garand stock type 2A.The specs of this stock indicate it was used with Springfield rifles with serial numbers under 78,000 since there is no Ordinance.Cartouche (crossed cannons). That came in at # 80,000.The cartouche on this stock is SA over SPG used from 81 to 78,000. The type 2A is the first to be inletted to acceopt a type 2 hinged butt plate, and the barrel channels of the early ones are the longer 2.150" Both holes in the butt stock are 0.81" This stock qualifies in all these catagories. It obviously has been around awhile but is in very solid and serviceable No metal parts are included.
