The Sterling Model Sterling is a vintage, 6-shot, blowback-operated, single-action pocket pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Produced by Sterling Arms Corporation in Lockport, New York during the 1970s and early 1980s, this American-made handgun was designed to fill the pocket-pistol market. Sterling Arms went out of business in the mid-1980s due to extensive legal liabilities. Today, the Sterling exists purely as an entry-level collectible or novelty plinker. .22 Long Rifle
