The S.A. Alkartasuna Fabrica de Armas "Ruby" is a Spanish-manufactured, semi-automatic pistol chambered in .32 ACP (7.65mm). It was produced primarily as an emergency military sidearm for the French Army during World War I. The original Ruby design belonged to Gabilondo y Urresti. However, because Gabilondo could not keep up with France's massive monthly demand (which scaled up to 30,000 units), France contracted dozens of other Spanish gunsmiths directly or via subcontracts. S.A. Alkartasuna (based in Guernica) was one of these manufacturers. .32 ACP
