The M&P series is Smith & Wesson‚s flagship duty pistol and has seen extensive use with many law enforcement agencies across America. The polymer frame allows the pistol to be lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant while the more flexible material helps to absorb recoil during firing. The pistol also features a striker action that allows for a consistent trigger pull on each shot along with an accessory rail for installing lights and laser aiming devices. The M&P40 is chambered in the popular .40 S&W cartridge that was originally used predominantly by law enforcement.
The Performance Center series features upgraded internals along with fiber optic sights for a better sight picture. This model features a 4-inch barrel and includes one 6-round and one 7-round magazine.
