Description:
"Serial no. 456617. Manufactured circa 1943 by Inland Manufacturing Division, General Motors, chambered in .30 Carbine, 18"" round barrel marked “INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/5-43." Bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. This carbine has been upgraded with typical post-war arsenal alterations including a bayonet lug, rotary safety, and a Type II milled adjustable rear sight. The low wood stock remains in very good condition and bears a post-war arsenal cartouche on the right side. An iconic American military arm, the M1 Carbine saw extensive service during World War II and continued to serve U.S. forces through the Korean and Vietnam Wars following arsenal rebuild programs.
