This is an all correct double factory case with fantastic accessories. The flask is near Mint and has the ""Colt's Patent Markings. There is also a very fine brass Mold, a tin of percussion caps and two boxes of skin packs. There is also a nipple wrench / combo tool. This exquisite set was formerly in the renowned WIlliam Locke collection, arguably the most important and finest American gun collection ever assembled. It is pictured in the book The WIlliam Locke Collection by Robert Berryman, Charles Schriner and Theodore Hutcheson on page 79, and in the book Colt's from the WIlliam Locke Collection on page 50. In both books, these guns are pictured in a different case. It was reunited with its correct casing after the publication of this book. It is also pictured in The Colt Engraving Book Volume One by R. L. Wilson on page 99. The case is described as being Mahogany. Serial number 108867: Made in 1855. 31 caliber with a 4"" barrel., This gun is in excellent condition with 90% + of the original blue on the barrel. The cylinder has all of the scene and approximately 85% of the original blue. The case colors on the frame are visible and rate at approximately 85%, but have turned dark. The back strap and trigger guard have all of the original silver finish. The grips are spectacular carved dragoon head Ivory. Serial number 109074. Made in 1855. 31 caliber with a 4"" barrel. This gun is in excellent condition with 95%+ of the original blue on the barrel. The cylinder has all of the scene and has almost all of a restored blue finish. The frame has all of the original case colors. Both the back strap and trigger guard have almost all of the original silver finish. The grips are spectacular carved dragoon head Ivory. In summary, this is a fantastic documented set that was once in the William Locke collection and then was in the Bill Myer's collection. This set is also pictured in numerous books.
