The left hand side of the slide is engraved ""General Parral / Comandante De Comandantes"" This gun has an gray to brown patina throughout showing heavy carry wear and areas of light pitting. The grips are checkered and show extreme carry wear. Parral, Mexico is a mining town in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico that was the home base for General Francisco ""Pancho"" Villa when he commanded the revolutionary Division del Norte during the Mexican revolution. He made Parral his home in his latter years and was assassinated there in 1923. Pancho Villa was frequently known as the ""Comandante de Comandantes"" as well as ""Jefe De La Jefes"". He was a famous Robinhood like figure during the border wars making frequent raids to the US border. The only thing that gives us pause is the inscription on the slide is much sharper than say the barrel address. This gun has been in the same collection and was found in Mexico as is seen back in the 1950s- 1960s. Consignment Price: $8,500.00 Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Consignment |
