The Chapuis Elan Classic is a traditionally styled side-by-side double rifle chambered in the formidable .470 Nitro Express. Designed with the balance, handling characteristics, and immediate second-shot capability expected from a classic dangerous-game rifle, this new-production Chapuis combines proven double-rifle architecture with handsome European craftsmanship.
Its 24-inch double barrels provide a practical balance between maneuverability and controlled handling. The barrels wear a deep, polished black finish and are equipped with express-style iron sights, including a prominent front blade and rear sighting elements positioned along the rib. The side-by-side configuration presents naturally when shouldered and allows the shooter to fire either barrel through the rifle’s traditional double-trigger arrangement.
The coin-finished action gives the Elan Classic a refined appearance while creating an attractive contrast against the dark barrels and richly figured walnut. The semi-pistol-grip stock displays strong grain throughout, with carefully executed checkering at the grip for a secure hold.
