Description:
Antique 1840's Swiss Magnenat 9.1mm Percussion Stutzer — Vaulion Match Rifle
Early Small-Bore Swiss Stutzer — Double-Set Hair Trigger — Tang Peep Sight

Description
Heavy Swiss percussion match rifle made by Magnenat of Vaulion, Switzerland around 1840. This is an early small-bore rifle with a double-set hair trigger, built in the Swiss Stutzer pattern for serious offhand match work. Unrestored and honest throughout, it presents as a good example of pre-cartridge Swiss target rifle making. Add this classic Stutzer to your collection.

Action & Metalwork
Percussion lock with double-set hair trigger. Iron furniture in the white. Blued barrel finish is turning ash gray with some thinning, with minor frosting on the trigger guard and buttplate. Original ramrod present. At 14 lbs 14 oz, the weight is right where a match Stutzer of this period should be.

Barrel & Sights
32" octagonal barrel with globe-type front sight and tang-mounted adjustable peep sight. 9.1mm bore with good rifling, some uniform patination, uncleaned.

Stock
Nicely figured walnut stock with horn forend cap. Only minor handling marks.
