Description:
This Colt SAA 1st Generation Single Action Army revolver was shipped around 1937 (serial #356094). Colt Archives stated any specific information on this gun was lost some time ago, so no letter is available. However, judging by the holster wear and numbered grips, it appears to be complete and in original condition. It has quite a bit of blue on the barrel and cylinder and on other protected parts. The case colors are almost all faded. The action is crisp with all clicks and solid lock up. Bore and chambers are in fine condition. The front of the cylinder is marked with a five-pointed star which indicates steel with higher carbon content, appropriate for late 1st generation guns made for and after the higher pressure .357 magnum cartridge was offered. The rear of the cylinder is marked with last two digits of the serial number (94). The left barrel is marked with the long maker/model/caliber die stamp used after 1929. Serials and assembly numbers are all correct and matching. The only serious pitting is seen on the bottom and left trigger guard and trigger, probably from moisture held by a holster. Grips are very good with no chips or cracks.

The holster is an H. H. Heiser, Denver, Colorado, heavy leather with two buckle loops, also of 1930’s or 1940’s vintage.
