Long before that legendary design was introduced, however, Beretta had already established an international reputation with the S57 series. The S57 EL represented the deluxe version of that early platform, combining proven engineering with elegant Italian styling and exceptional craftsmanship.
Offered here is an excellent example of a Beretta S57 EL 12 Gauge, built in Italy during Beretta's golden era of post-war sporting gun production. Featuring desirable 30-inch barrels, 3-inch chambers, and weighing approximately 7 1/2 pounds, this shotgun offers outstanding balance for both upland hunting and sporting clays. The fixed Improved Cylinder and Modified choke combination provides tremendous versatility in the field while preserving the shotgun's original factory configuration.
The EL grade distinguished itself from the standard S57 through its beautifully executed floral scroll engraving, upgraded walnut, and refined overall finish. This example displays crisp engraving, attractive wood with excellent figure, and retains the classic coin-finished receiver that has become synonymous with Beretta's traditional sporting arms. The wood-to-metal fit is excellent, and the shotgun presents as a well-cared-for example that reflects decades of responsible ownership.
