Marlin 1881 rifle, caliber 40-60, serial # 9217 2nd model made in 1884. 28 inch octagon barrel, RARE set trigger, buckhorn rear sight and blade front sight. Less than 5% of the 81 Marlin rifles had a set trigger. ANTIQUE RATING “EXCELLENT” original blue 90%, forearm and stock has handling marks-no cracks or dents, excellent bright bore and rifling.
