The Kimber Classic Model Custom helped redefine what shooters expected from a production 1911 during the mid-1990s. Introduced as an early Clackamas, Oregon-built pistol, it delivered many premium custom features directly from the factory at a time when most competitors still required expensive aftermarket work. This example, manufactured in 1996, represents one of Kimber's early and highly regarded production runs.
Built on the proven Government-size 1911 platform, the 5-inch match-grade barrel and steel construction provide outstanding balance, accuracy, and recoil control. The crisp single-action trigger, extended beavertail grip safety, and skeletonized hammer make this pistol exceptionally comfortable to shoot while maintaining the classic feel enthusiasts expect from a full-size 1911.
The controls are familiar to experienced 1911 shooters, with an extended thumb safety, lowered and flared ejection port, and clean, uncluttered slide profile. The matte blue finish complements the traditional styling, while the double-diamond grips preserve the appearance of Kimber's original Classic series. Overall configuration appears consistent with an early factory Clackamas production pistol.
Chambered in .45 ACP, this Kimber delivers the proven stopping power and smooth shooting characteristics that made the Government Model famous.
