The J. Stevens Model 416-2 represents one of America's finest pre-war .22 target rifles, built during the golden age of precision rimfire competition. Produced between 1937 and 1941, these rifles were designed for serious marksmanship training and formal target competition, combining exceptional workmanship with a heavy target barrel and precision aperture sights. Original examples accompanied by their factory boxes are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the heavy 26-inch barrel provides outstanding balance while minimizing barrel vibration for excellent accuracy. The receiver-mounted match aperture rear sight and globe front sight offer the precise sight picture demanded by competitive shooters.
