BEAUTIFUL SMITH & WESSON K-22 MASTERPIECE in ORIGINAL GOLD BOX * MADE in 1948 * 22 LR
Description: Smith & Wesson Gold Box K-22 Masterpiece, all original, made in 1948. I have had this K-22 for 25 years and I have never shot it. My shooter is the homley twin to this one. This one has the original Gold Box with the serial number written in grease pencil on the bottom of the box. There are no papers or accessories included except an original Smith & Wesson cleaning rod and jag. The bluing is beautiful soft blue of the era and is in nearly perfect shape. There is a cylinder turn ring that I have emphasized in the photos. The original diamond grips are in excellent condition and are serial numbered to the revolver. There are 2 small boo-boos on the grips that are clearly shown in the photos. The action is perfect, the cylinder chambers and the bore are bright with no corrosion. The riflings are sharp and clean. The revolver has never been holstered and exhibits no bluing wear at the muzzle or on the sharp edges of the cylinder. These old K-22s are very accurate and fun to shoot. It is chambered in 22 LR (as are all K-22s) and is therefore less expensive to shoot with less recoil. Really nice ones like this made before 1950 are getting hard to find and I believe that if kept in this condition the value can only increase over the years.
