Smith & Wesson Ladysmith 6" barrel #0463 chambered for ".22 S & W Ctg.This spetacular Third Model Ladysmith boasts two very rare features, 6' barrel and adjustable target sights. We notice that the serial number is a four digit number starting with a zero. According to the Blue Book, the Third Model started at serial number 13951. There is much discussion about the meaning of the zero first digit, with consensus seeming to favor it designating a "Club Gun". Be that as it may, thr unusual number adds to the rarity if this specimen. But perhaps the most striking feature of this revolver is its condition. It retains over 99% of the original factory blue, even showing blue into the bore. Examination under strong magnification reveals no sign of it having been fired, though it does have an extremely mild turn ring on the cylinder. The trigger and hammer retain about all the case figure, but the hammer color has faded a bit to about 85%, the trigger a bit more at 75%. 

The Blue Book lists an extrordinary value of around $7,500 for a Ladysmith 6" Target in this condition. Though this is not unusual for rare guns in extrordinary condition, I feel a more reasonably attainable price is $6,000.
