• Meriden Firearms Company was a subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck & Co.
• Aubrey’s name was used as a brand marking on many of the company’s firearms, especially shotguns and revolvers, in order to give them a recognizable “signature” and perceived prestige.
• The marking “A.J. Aubrey” doesn’t indicate the designer or maker of that specific revolver—it was more of a trade name applied under Aubrey’s tenure and sold through Sears in the early 20th century.

• Very nice for its age — original blue finish present with honest wear, engraving sharp, and strong mechanical function 
• Bore: Good; strong rifling with minor black-powder-era pitting (localized, not severe).
• Mechanics: Top-break latch and auto-ejecting mechanism functioning. Works excellent in single and double action. Barrel to frame tight with good timing and lock-up.
• Originality: Finish, engraving, and markings consistent with late 19th-century Meriden production.

• This firearm qualifies as a C&R  revolver  and an FFL is required. It is your responsibility to make sure the item is legal in your state and you must be 21 years of age or older to purchase. Please forward a copy of the FFL or C&R license you will be using.
