Meriden Firearms Co. Revolver “A.J. Aubrey” .32 S&W small frame double action top break revolver. ** C&R OK **
Meriden Firearms Company revolver (made in Meriden, Connecticut, early 1900s), the name
“A.J. Aubrey” refers to
Albert James Aubrey, who was the president of the company during its main period of operation (1905–1915).
- Meriden Firearms Company was a subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck & Co.
- Aubrey’s name was used as a brand marking on many of the company’s firearms, especially shotguns and revolvers, in order to give them a recognizable “signature” and perceived prestige.
- The marking “A.J. Aubrey” doesn’t indicate the designer or maker of that specific revolver—it was more of a trade name applied under Aubrey’s tenure and sold through Sears in the early 20th century.
manufactured circa 1906–1910 (most likely ~1907–1909). given the low serial and the timing of Aubrey’s patents and presidency, it’s a solid approximate window.
