1935 Smith & Wesson .357 Registered Magnum REG No. 360 Factory Letter & Documents 8 3/4" Lanyard Loop Nice!
Description:
A factory letter and SWHF documents accompany this rather interesting Smith & Wesson .357 Registered Magnum detailing its original shipment on December 6, 1935 to Frederick A Hodges in Utica, New York. The gun is Reg. No. 360 placing this among the first few built, it is equipped with a 8 3/4" barrel, King reflector base front sight with a King red post, lanyard loop and checkered walnut diamond magna grips. There are twelve SWHF documents including correspondence from the customer in 1935 as well as numerous replies from the factory. The gun was returned to the factory in November of 1948 for refurbishment as well as to have the barrel changed from the original 6" barrel to the present 8 3/4" and to be fitted for a lanyard loop, note the service department markings on the grips frame. The gun is mechanically perfect with mint bore and cylinder chambers. Overall a unique and early Registered Magnum with a ton of history!
