S&W Smith and Wesson Pre-Model 28 Highway Patrolman .357 Mag 4" 1954 Gifted to NRA President VERY RARE w/Factory Original Box Factory Letters C&R

Follow our listings to see more items from this amazing collection!*** Manufacturer: S&W Model: Pre-Model 28 Highway Patrolman Action: DA/SA Revolver Caliber: .357 Magnum Serial: S104758 Barrel: 4 inches Finish: Blue Stock/Grips: Checkered Walnut with Emblems This is a VERY RARE Smith and Wesson pre-model 28 Highway Patrolman double and single action 6-shot N-Frame revolver. It is chambered in .357 Magnum, has a square-butt, a 4 inch solid rib pinned barrel with a bore that is in excellent condition. It has has a fluted cylinder, a checkered cylinder release and hammer, and a serrated trigger. The ejector rod is shrouded. The checkered hammer and serrated trigger are case colored. Based on the S&W factory letter, this revolver was manufactured 1954. This is the first year this revolver model was made. It was shipped from Smith and Wesson to Major General Julian S. Hatcher as a gift on May 10th, 1954. He was the sitting President of the National Rifle Association at this time. The historical letter from the Smith and Wesson Historical Foundation is included to verify this. The action function properly based on visual inspection. The timing and lock up are perfect. It has a blue finish that is in FANTASTIC condition! The yoke cut is marked with the serial number “S104758”, “M 3 17576". It has a fixed serrated ramp blade front sight and a fully adjustable serrated square-notch rear sight. It has 2-piece diamond checkered walnut grips that are in great shape. The grips have S&W emblems. The underside of the grips are unmarked. The back strap is serrated. The factory original box is included with the correct serial number on the bottom of the box. The manual, screw driver, and cleaning rod and brush are included. This revolver qualifies as a Curio and Relic and can ship where legally allowed. This VERY RARE revolver would make a great addition to any historical firearms collection. Check out the pictures and you will see this is a great find!
