I believe it is a 1957 issue. (According to S&W third edition book).

Action smooth, everything lines up right.
?This firearm has a definte upside, the pictures are of a firearm that is not polished up. So you can imagine what it could look like with a little tlc.
?It was a police issue from Greenwhich CT, he basically got it, shot it, holstered it a few times and wrapped it in a cloth and put it away in the 1950's. Really nice S&W.
?Some holster wear on barrel end. And some grip wear on the wood.
