The Colt Commando is one of a series of revolvers Colt produced for military and police beginning in the early 1930s. That included the Fitz Special, the Detective Special, the Commando Special, and the Banker's Special. They were very popular with agents who needed a discrete pistol for a duty gun. This ran the gamut from plainclothes police, to private security, to bankers, and even postal clerks on mail trains. The Commando was initially produced for the military and has a Parkerized finish. This one, produced in 1983, is part of the Third series with a shrouded ejector. .38 Special
