Serial umber 609464. Made in 1952. 38 Special caliber with a 2" barrel. This is a factory engraved Colt detective special with rare nickel finish. This gun is in excellent near Mint condition. The grips are smooth pearls that are excellent as well. The bulk of the detective special productions are plain and unembellished. This gun was made as a retirement gift for Chief Ben Little who was the police chief of the Springfield, Il. This gun comes with a factory letter confirming all features and has this gun being made for the Chief.  Absolutely beautiful example of Factory engraved Colt Detective Special! (L2024-15413)
