Here offered is a high condition early Post-War Colt Officers Model .38 Special revolver.  Serial Number 5640XX appears on both the frame and the crane. That means it was shipped in 1949. The amount of blueing remaining on the recoil shield and the ejector of testifies to very little firing.  Timing and lock-up are perfect, and the bore is mint.  The original blue is magnificent.  What keeps it from being perfect are some scattered VERY light dings on the side plate and along the edge of one of the cylinder flutes.  You could look at this 77 year old treasure and not notice these marks at first; I DID!
