1920 Colt Police Positive .38SW revolver, 6 shot, 6\" barrel; most of the polished nickel finish remains and the original Colt factory grips are in incredible condition. There are some places of finish loss and speckled rust spots on the frame but not much considering this historic Colt is 105 years old. This Colt Police Positive is in perfect working condition and has a very interesting back story.. We recently purchased this Colt from a gentleman in his early 80‚‚s in our shop. He explained to us that he had received this revolver from his father who was a West Virginia State Trooper for 30 years. His father told him that he had taken the gun from a moonshiner he busted in the early 1930‚‚s. He further told us that his father said the inmate moonshiner had written him from prison and asked the Trooper to not give his gun back to him upon his release. The moonshiner stated that he was afraid if he got the gun back that he would end up killing someone or getting killed. The Trooper kept the gun as requested but learned the moonshiner was shot and killed shortly after his release from prison during a bootleg liquor dispute with another moonshiner in southern West Virgini
