This consignment sale is a Colt Police Positive (2nd Issue with 1926 last patent date stamped on barrel), serial number 362178, manufactured in 1928.

The revolver is chambered for .38 Special, has a 4 inch barrel and a 6 shot fluted, swing-out cylinder. It operates in both single and double action. Both actions function as they should.

The stop strap is serrated. There is a rear sight channel and a fixed front “hump” sight.

The grips are black and checkered with the Colt logo at the top of the grip.

The bore is clean, the barrel is bright and the rifling is good. The grips are in Very Good condition. The metal barrel and frame also grade as Very Good or better. The metal is in great shape and we find no rust.

Overall, this is a very nice example of a Vintage Police Positive. Whether this one will be a shooter or just a display piece, it’s certainly worth a look and we don’t think it will disappoint!
