High Condition 1940 Colt Officers Model Target, 6" Barrel, Blue, .38 SP

Description:
Introduced in 1927, the Officers Model Target was an excellent target gun in it's day. This example was manufactured in 1940, but wasn't shipped until January 14, 1942 to Emil Novotny of St. Paul, MN. Emil was a well known sporting goods dealer in St. Paul. According to a newspaper article detailing his testimony in a criminal trial, he was a firearms expert for the St. Paul Police Department. The original blue finish has minor scratches and surface imperfections that one would expect to see in a lightly used 85 year old gun. The markings remain clear and distinct. There is minor high edge wear throughout, including minor muzzle wear. There is a scratch around the cylinder. The grips are in great shape. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The trigger pull is smooth and the cylinder locks up tight. It comes with a Colt Archives letter confirming it's configuration. This Colt would be a great addition to any Colt collection.

If you have a C&R license, I am happy to ship directly to you. If you don't have a C&R license, the gun will have to be shipped to your FFL. The gun will be shipped UPS Next Day Air, with insurance, for $45. I offer a 3 day inspection period. If you are not satisfied, please return it in the same condition, unfired. Buyer is responsible for paying the return shipping and insurance.
