Description:
Early, standard configuration Smith & Wesson Model 36 (Chiefs Special) revolver. This flat latch example with factory nickel finish, 2” barrel, serrated ramp front sight, groove rear sight, color case hardened hammer and trigger. “SMITH & WESSEN” on left side of barrel, S&W logo on left side of frame. “.38 S. & W. SPL.” on right of barrel, and usual S&W address under cylinder on frame. “MOD-36” inside of frame, “59526” on inner crane. Full SN on butt. Complete with original silver shipping box, with end label referencing; model, finish, and model specifics. Matching “185022” penciled on bottom of bo that includes RIP and literature.
Condition:
EXC+, near new, original finish, the cylinder ring barely breaking through the finish. No cartridge head imprints on recoil shield. No handling marks on grips. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG matching box, original literature with oil stains. It would be difficult to improve upon this exceptional early production Model 36 (Chiefs Special), made in the late 1950’s other than a better box.
