Smith & Wesson Chiefs Special, Cal. .38 Special, 1953-54 Production, Pre-Model 36

Description:
S&W Chiefs Special (Pre-Model 36) fitted with a 2 inch pinned barrel with serrated ramped front sight (1/16 inch wide), flat cylinder release latch, diamond checkered grips with S&W medallions, built on a 5-screw /round butt frame, case colored finished hammer and trigger, rest of gun is blue finished, and chambered in .38 Special.  This 1953-54 vintage Chiefs Special (serial number 33904) is in near new condition retaining 99% original blue with only a slight drag line on the cylinder and some blue loss on the extractor rod.  The grips fit perfectly and are in excellent condition, with a few very minor chips and handling marks.  The bore looks as new and the action functions the same.   NOTE:  Gun is all numbers matching: Frame to barrel, cylinder, grips, and crane.  Comes with a correct Smith & Wesson Chiefs Special maroon colored box, with damaged "Chiefs Special" end label (box numbers to another Chiefs Special, serial number 36557), cleaning rod, bore brush, and S&W instructions manual.  Also comes with a lined wood case.  Extremely hard to find in this condition.                                         CURIO & RELIC
