Classic, Outstanding, Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 Revolver, 4 Screw, 6.5” Barrel, Red Ramp/White Outline Sights, Circa 1957, in later mahogany box with tools.
Description:
Standard configuration Pre-M29 revolver, cal. .44 Magnum, made in circa 1957, with 6.5 inch barrel having red insert front sight and white highlighted rear sight. 4 screw S frame with matching cylinder fitted with color case hardened target hammer and trigger with early coke bottle target grips having football recess and diamond around screws. Complete in later era mahogany case with replacement blue-surfaced styrofoam inserts and tools to include screwdriver with the fluted handle.
Condition:
The Revolver has 99++% bright original finish the only loss related to the very faint cylinder ring that barely breaks the surface. No discernible cartridge case imprints on recoil shield. Comparable condition grips that have only the minute handling marks on closest inspection. Mirror bright bore. Given the condition we did not wish to cycle the action. VG+ mahogany box with oxidative aging on latch and foam with usual breaks around muzzle, rear sight, and other sharp edges. A phenomenally nice, no excuse, early production S&W Pre-M29 4 Screw Revolver in a later presentation case with replacement inserts!
