Description:
For your consideration, a lovely nickeled Smith & Wesson "Frontier" mod DA with a 6" barrel. This is a period renickel but very well done. Overall condition is excellent for an early 4 digit serial numbered revolver. Mechanics are perfect; advance, timing, lock up, extraction, ejection, as well as perfect function in both single and double action. Of note, this revolver has no problem with "push off", whereby a worn rear sear has trouble holding the hammer back in single action. Barrel to frame fit is excellent with zero play and no cylinder slop when in battery. Rifling is still strong though both chambers and bore show evidence of old black powder fouling. This is to be expected in a revolver of this age. Case color hardening is still very evident on the hammer and trigger. The only detractors are a very tiny chip on the bottom right hand grip panel (pictured) and a small blemish in the nickel on the left side of the barrel (pictured).
