Follow our listings to see more items from this amazing collection!*** Manufacturer: Smith and Wesson Model: .44 Hand Ejector 4th Model of 1950 Target Action: DA/SA Revolver Caliber: .44 Special Serial: S146033 Barrel: 6.5 inches Finish: Blue Stock/Grips: Diamond Checkered Walnut with Emblems This is a VERY NICE and RARE Smith and Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 4th Model of 1950 Target. This revolver is also sometimes referred to as a Pre-Model 24. It is a 6-round double and single action N-Frame revolver with a square-butt and 5-screws. It is chambered in .44 Special, has a 6.5 inch solid rib pinned barrel, and a bore that is in excellent condition. Only a total of 5,050 units of this variation were made which makes this a RARE revolver. Based on the Smith and Wesson factory letter, this revolver was made in 1955 and was shipped to Gopher Shooters Supply Company in Faribault, Minnesota. The revolver has all the original features it had when it shipped from the factory based on the factory letter. The blue finish is in SPECTACULAR condition. The the cylinder rod cut, rear of cylinder, and butt of the frame are marked with the serial number "S146033". The timing and lock up are perfect based on visual inspection. It has a fluted cylinder, a shrouded ejector rod, checkered cylinder release, a checkered hammer, and a serrated trigger. The trigger and hammer have a color case finish. The yoke cut and yoke are marked “69139”. The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The right side of the frame is marked with the large S&W emblem, “MADE IN U.S.A.”, and the Marcas Registradas. The right side of the barrel is marked “44 S. & W. SPECIAL CTG”. The top strap and rib are serrated to reduce glare. The fixed front sight is a blade that is forged to a serrated ramp. The rear sight is a square-notch that is fully adjustable. It has 2-piece diamond checkered walnut grips with S&W emblems. The grips are in great shape with no cracks. The underside of the grips are marked "141576". The front strap and back strap are serrated. A BEAUTIFUL wood presentation case that has the S&W emblem and is marked "SMITH & WESSON" is included. It has a blue felt lining, a key to lock the case, S&W factory letter, paperwork, and the factory letter from Smith and Wesson. This revolver qualifies as a Curio and Relic and can ship where legally allowed. This RARE vintage revolver would make a great addition to any firearms collection.
