This is a big, gorgeous pre-war 45 revolver! Serial #177xxx puts it into the "commercial" range of the 1917's and this one has apparently been babied for the last 80 years or so. Sure, its been shot a bit, and there's evidence on the recoil shield and some powder residue in the bore (could stand a good cleaning), otherwise would rate as perfect, especially for its age. 5-1/2" barrel has a great bore, crisp rifling and a nice shine. Theres NO rot at or around the breech or forcing cone. Even the "fouling cut" in the topstrap is clean and the machining marks are crisp. Matching #'s, wood finish and case colors are developing an aged patina, while blueing rates an easy 95+%. CA and C&R OK for this one. $1995 plus $25 ship to your FFL.
