Unusual S&W 1917

Description:
This 1917 began life as a military model shipped to Bush Terminal in Springfield Mass (Smith letter included). In January 1964 it was refinished completely by Smith (letter speculates in the thirties but 1.64 and Diamond S are on frame under grip). Apparently, the restoration was to commercial specs, so the gun got checkered grips, high polish blue, and an S&W trademark on the side plate. The result is a 1917 in commercial finish with every marking Smith ever out on this model, commercial or military. Wood, metal, and case colors on hammer and trigger are 98%. Bore and breech face appear unfired. Remarkable specimen. Price includes shipping.
