Standard configuration Colt Cobra lightweight revolver, First Model, made in 1956, cal. .38 Special, SN: 59294 LW, with a 2" barrel with blued finish. This First Model Cobra with alloy frame, unloaded weight of 15 ounces, has fixed serrated ramp front sight and square notch rear sight. The left side of barrel marked "COBRA / .38 SPECIAL CTG"; the right side shows "COLT'S P.T.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD CONN U.S.A." Frame marked "59294 / LW" and inspection "A". Matching, checkered/bordered walnut grips. Original factory box with yellow and black end label marked "COLT COBRA REVOLVER / 2 INCH BBL / COLT BLUE", matching serial number "59294" handwritten on bottom. Complete w/ bristle brush, filled-out warranty card dated '57, yellow notice to gunsmiths, and instruction booklet. A classic alloy frame/lightweight "snubbie" built on the company's "D" frame, the model having been produced in several calibers.
Condition:
VG original condition with holster wear in the usual places to include the sharp edges, around the sides of the cylinder, and the butt. Little actual firing as no cartridge head imprints on recoil shield. Grips with oil darkening and blunted checkering, no splits. Bright bore. Correct indexing. VG box and literature with considerable scuffing as imaged.
