COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY
45 caliber SAN ANTONIO POLICE pictured in the book A STUDY OF THE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER by Kopec
Description:
SOLD As stated above this SAA is pictured on Page 181 in "A STUDY OF THE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER" written by Graham, Kopec, and Moore. I found this San Antonio Police Colt Single Action in Waco, Texas. You will find a factory roll mark on the butt SAPD 109. Shipment was to the city of San Antonio Police Department on December 21, 1927. Caliber is .45 with a 4 3/4" barrel. Bore is excellent with no issues. The revolver is 100% correct and original. It has not been messed with. Lots of original blue remains. A a very nice amount of the original case color also remains. All markings are clear and easy to see. Action is smooth and tight. All four clicks are crisp. Lock up is tight. The bore is nice, no issues. Grips are excellent and fit perfectly. I do have a Colt Archives letter dated December of 1973. I contacted the former Chief of Police in San Antonio, Chief William O. Bill Gibson. He told me the revolver was issued to Patrolman Walter Harrison on January 19, 1928. You will like this single action. It will make a great addition to any collection. American Arms & Antiques item #2601 C&R or FFL.
