** SOLD ** 2005 Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan .454 Casull / .45 Colt Revolver with 2.5" Barrel & Factory Box
*** MINTY!! ***
Description: This is a very lightly-used, exceptionally-clean, and very handsome Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan DA/SA revolver, complete with it's original factory box with the original serial-numbered end-label intact, chambered in both .454 Casull and .45 Long Colt. This is a very serious and mean-looking revolver! It is absolutely over-built and massive despite the short barrel, and it is constructed almost entirely of stainless steel, weighing in at 2 pounds and 10 ounces unloaded, and a hair over 3 pounds loaded with 6 .454 Casull cartridges. This handsome large-frame revolver features a triple-locked cylinder design where the front, rear, and bottom of the cylinder are locked-up to the frame for maximum strength and durability, a 6-shot unfluted cylinder that is recessed at the rear to accept moon clips, a 2.5" inch snub-nose barrel with a beautifully recessed and polish crown on the muzzle, a full-length underlug that houses and protects the ejector rod, a pinned and serrated front sight blade with a matte blue finish (prior owner applied white-out to the serrated face for better visibility in low-light, a fully adjustable rear sight with a square-notched white-outlined blade, and a 1-piece black rubber finger-grooved grip made by Hogue for Ruger that has the Ruger logo molded into the upper right side of the grip. The action on this Ruger is extremely strong and reliable, while still being very smooth, precise, and linear in it's pull-weight. It is perfectly "in-time" no matter how it is operated, single or double action, and no matter how fast or slow the action is worked. The cylinder lock-up is rock solid, and the trigger breaks nicely with just a little bit of travel when fired in single-action operation. The trigger pull is a little heavy when firing double-action as you would expect it to be on such a heavy and powerful revolver, but as-mentioned earlier, it is at least very linear in pull-weight, and does not get more difficult to pull the closer the hammer gets to dropping. This Alaskan is not even remotely close to being broken-in yet, and still retains 98% of it's service life or more. While these Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan's in .454 Casull are technically still in production, they are nearly impossible to find in new or used but minty conditon. Almost every single example we can find online is chambered in .44 Magnum instead of .454 Casull, but we did find a few examples chambered in .454 Casull. Out of those few .454 Casull guns we found, but all but 1 were used and showed some wear and handling marks from being carried or fired. They also showed some scorching on the face of the cylinder, as well as some build-up of carbon and lead on the forcing cone. This Alaskan was acquired from the original purchaser who bought it new sometime between 2005-2006. He told us that he had only fired a handful of .45 Colt ammo thru it, and had never fired any .454 Casull thru it. While it is always best to buy the gun and not the story, in this case the condition of the gun is consistent with what we were told. We looked at everything on, and in, this gun, and it looks like-new both inside and out. There is no visible mechanical wear on any of the internals, there is no primer erosion on the breech face of the frame, the forcing cone is clean, and there are no visible "halos" on the front cylinder face. Notably, the front face of the cylinder DOES still show the grain of the steel when closely-examined, which is a great indicator that it has not been polished to remove any evidence of having previously been fired a lot. The grip on this Ruger is also in like-new condition, free from any damage or visible wear, soft to the touch, and tight to the frame. While this beautiful Ruger Alaskan revolver is techically used, it could be considered a new gun for all intents and purposes. Despite being made in 2005, it could pass for having been made last year rather than nearly 20 years ago! With the lone exception of the factory test-firing, it has never even had a single round of .454 Casull fired thru it!! It is an engineering work of art, an extremely powerful revolver with extreme stopping-power, and it is as reliable and durable as ANY revolver ever made by Ruger, or any other company for that matter. This is super-important of course, especially when the owner is carrying it for self-defense in Brown Bear country or anywhere there might be animals of the 4-legged or 2-legged variety that could mean you harm. With these appreciating in value seemingly every month, they will likely never be cheaper than they are now. Keeping that in mind, if you have lusted after one of these for a while, you might as well buy one now or you will be paying more later. We have NO doubt whatsoever that this Ruger will continue to be a superb long-term investment if it remains in such excellent condition. NOTE: We have a Kydex or polymer chest rig / holster for this Ruger Alaskan available for an additional cost. If interested in this rig, we can send pictures of it to the interested party Price: POR Handgun Caliber: .45 Colt, .454 Casull Manufacturer: Ruger Model: Super Redhawk Alaskan Serial Number: 530-01331 Barrel Length: 2.5" Inches Condition: Excellent / Minty Metal Condition: Excellent Bore Condition: Mint Action: Double-Action / Single-Action Revolver Finish: Stainless Steel Weight: 2 lbs 10 ounces Unloaded / 3 lbs Loaded Sights: Target-Style Adjustable Iron Sights Manufacture Date: 2005 Extras: Factory Box w/ Intact Serial-Numbered End Label & Factory Lock (No Manual) Grips: Factory Black 1-Piece Rubber Finger-Groove Hogues (Ruger-Branded) Contact Seller |
