Description:
Scarce Colt New Service made for England in 1914, caliber .455 ELEY, with 5.5" barrel, fixed sights, with two-line address/patent markings on top of the barrel, caliber marking on the left side of barrel, "VP" on the left trigger guard and the Rampant Colt on the sideplate. Matching serial numbers on frame and crane. Fitted with special order smooth mother-of- pearl grips. Landyard ring on butt. As typical for English revolvers, a generous scattering of British proofs on left/right/back of frame along with rear surface of cylinder.
Condition:
G orginal finish with the majority wear/light cleaning on barrel. Balance of pistol VG. Exc grips with no splits or chips. Cylinder indexs correctly against light resistance. Mirror bore. One of the more unusual New Service, both in caliber and with respect to the MOP grips.
