At the time of prodcution, the New Service Target pistol was the most expensive handgun in the Colt lineup. Finely finished and hand fitted with deluxe features such as the fully hand checkered front and back straps, adjustable sights, beautifully checkered Walnut grups considered the finest grips Colt ever made on a non presentation grade gun and superior polish and finish. This is a very early gun, mfg in 1905, with all the early features such as cut in frame, non tapered barrel and early Colt rearing horse logo on left side of frame. Extra attention was paid to the English guns as to finish as that market was very particular in those regards. This gun retains at least 95% of that lusterous finish on the frame and cylinder with some wear to high spots. The barrel retains about 60% with the non blued areas showing usual patina toning. The bore and action are as new and the stunning grips show some wear but are still stunning. The hand polished action and trigger pull are as good as any custom gun today if not better, smooth as silk. Of course, it has the standard 7.5" barrel with high target front sight and rear. Nice enough to be highly collectable and enough wear that taking it to the range will not ruin it. Of course, it is C&R elligible.
As always, we will entertain any legitimate offer, we love trades and are happy to do lay a ways at 30% down and balance in 90 days. We also are well informed on International Shipments and are registered dealers to ship to CA and welcome all of your business. If you are looking for something specific, please let us know as we get upwards of 50 new guns a month and will always buy guns, parts, memorabilia, Vintage Western holsters, collectable ammo, Old scopes and sights, grips, etc, etc. We attend many National shows and look forward to meeting with you at one of these venues.
