1983 LNIB RARE Smith Wesson MODEL 547 3in Complete Package, No-Moon-Clip 9mm

For sale is a like-new in-box Smith & Wesson Model 547, 3-inch blued, round butt, manufactured on February 17, 1983. This is a very desirable and hard-to-find Smith, and this one comes as a really complete package with the original box, documents, vapor paper, manual, and cleaning kit. The Model 547 is one of the more unique revolvers Smith & Wesson ever produced. It is a factory 9mm K-frame that was specially engineered to function without moon clips, using Smith & Wesson’s unusual extractor design for rimless cartridges. That feature alone makes the 547 stand apart from most other 9mm revolvers, and it is a big reason these have become so collectible. The first full production run for this model was in 1983, when the factory produced 6,486 of the 3-inch round butt models. In 1984, the factory produced 3,480 more Model 547s, with the majority being the 4-inch barrel guns. Because of that, the 3-inch round butt version has always had a strong appeal, especially when found in this kind of condition with all the original accessories. This one presents beautifully with its factory round butt checkered target grips. The blue finish is excellent, and overall, it is just a super clean, well-kept revolver that would fit equally well in a serious Smith collection or as a very neat shooter. Recently cleaned, fully serviced, and lightly waxed to protect and preserve the finish.
