Description: 9U.S. Army - Armed Forces .45 Commemorative Auto Ordnance Model M1911A1 .45 caliber semi automatic, 5 inch barrel, SN = USA 0807, blue finish This fully functional, limited edition pistol commemorates the U.S. Army and features gold etched scroll designs on the left side of the slide with a gold panel which reads "UNITED STATES ARMY / COMMEMORATIVE M1911A1 ' "THIS WE'LL DEFEND"" and "14 JUN 1775" amid scroll work behind the serrations on the slide. 24 karat gold plated trigger, slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release, hammer and grip screws with blue on the remaining parts. Fitted with high gloss, smooth burl walnut grips inset with full-color, fired enamel cloisonne medallions of the U.S. Army symbol. These custom grips, made by Herrett's, are some of the nicest museum grade walnut grips you have ever seen. Includes one magazine. Includes a lockable army green velvet-lined walnut wood and glass presentation/display box. Includes display box key and solid brass engraved identification plate mounted inside the box next to the gun. Includes original purchase documentation. This is a one owner gun. Seller originally purchased this strictly limited edition gun new in 1989. Only 1,911 guns were made. Serial number range = USA 0001 - USA 1911. The "USA" prefix to the serial number stands for United States Army. Condition: The gun is mint. Never fired. Never removed from the display case. The display case is excellent (see photos). Made in the U.S.A. by Auto Ordnance Corporation of West Hurley, NY. Designed, commissioned and issued exclusively by the American Historical Foundation of Richmond, VA. Shipping to your FFL only.
