It also marks the retirement of the beloved “Old Warhorse” after 75 years of stalwart service to the United States military. Dedicated to Honoring the Americans who fought in World War II.…”Lest We Forget.” Auto-Ordnance was commissioned to custom build this commemorative. Each pistol is as rugged and accurate as the ones used during both war times and in peacetime. All of the components of this commemorative M1911A1 are fully interchangeable with the original carried by American fighting troops in combat, assuring the authenticity of this military firearm. The M1911A1 is identical in weight and balance to the rifle issued to our troops in World War II. The frame and slide are polished to a mirror shine and are richly plated in 24-karat gold or blued to a gloss black finish. Additionally, the pistol grip is fitted with a matching medallion embossed with the Great Seal of the United States and commemorative tributes. Also included is a solid walnut, locking display case lined in plush burgundy velvet. This is a new, never fired “M1911A1” and is in mint condition.
