British Proofed Ring Trigger Pepperbox Pistol
Description:
NSN, .38 Caliber, 3” barrel cluster with good-very good, lightly pitted bores. This is an under-hammer pepperbox, very similar to those made by Blunt & Syms, and has small London proofs on the ribs between the barrels. The metal has an overall dull gray patina with numerous small scratches and marks throughout the surface of both the barrel cluster and the frame. Three of the six percussion nipples are intact, but the mechanism is still sound and fully functional. The frame has an integral bag-shaped grip with walnut side panels that have scattered small handling marks and blemishes on both sides, as well as a repaired crack on the left side running to the screw bolster. Additionally, there is a tombstone-shaped metal inlay added to the left side. This is a very nice British proofed pepperbox and rates about very good condition overall. Antique
