English Transitional Percussion Pepperbox
.41 cal.
Description: **New Price** This 6-shot, .41 cal. transitional pepperbox, circa 1840's, has no maker's mark which is not uncommon, but it does have a stamp "IMPROVED REVOLVER" on the top barrel flat. The bottom barrel flat and cylinder have matching proof marks. The length is 12" overall with a 5 1/2" octogon barrel, smooth cylinder, and walnut checkered stocks with minor dents. The frame, sideplate, hammer, triggerguard and backstrap are floral-engraved, and an ornate brass lion's head adorns the buttplate. Condition is very good without finish, but metal is smooth and unpitted overall with minor discolorations and blemishes. Excellent condition of nipples and surrounding rear cylinder area suggest this gun was not fired much. Typical pepperbox action is in very good condition and functions well. +Shipping Antique: Yes Price: $875.00 Contact Seller |
