SCARCE Antique EBEN T. STARR .32 Caliber RF Four Barrel PEPPERBOX Pistol
Only 2,000 Estimated Made in the Late 1860s
Description: SCARCE Antique EBEN T. STARR .32 Caliber RF Four Barrel PEPPERBOX Pistol Only 2,000 Estimated Made in the Late 1860s Here we present an antique Eben T. Starr Pepperbox Pistol, manufactured circa 1864-69 in New York, New York. This pistol was designed by prolific inventor Eben T. Starr and it very much resembles Christian Sharps’ own pepperbox pistol, complete with a revolving firing pin. The Starrs were actually produced by the Merrill Patent Firearms Mfg. Co. in Baltimore, Maryland. Starr was also the inventor of several Civil War weapons including both a double and a single action revolver as well as a cavalry carbine. This specimen is a 3rd Model with the barrel release spring not visible on the right exterior of the frame. The left side of the plate is marked “STARR’S PAT’S/MAY 10, 1864”. Unlike the Sharps Pepperbox, the Starr features a distinct push-button trigger, a side-mounted hammer, and a rotating firing pin that is housed within the frame rather than on the hammer. The barrels also pivot on a hinge at the front of the frame rather than sliding forward. The overall condition is good+. Strong action with a fully functioning firing pin. Good bores, semi-bright with a few patches of pitting. Legible markings. Good grips with sharp checkering. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-3/4 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1425 #217469 SOLD Antique: Yes |
