GALAND EUROPEAN REVOLVER COPY
.12MM
Description: Galand C F double action revolver, Model 1868, which although of French design. This one was made as a copy in Spain. Serial number #892, 5.5" ovtagon barrel with a very good bore. .12mm caliber.Like so many military arms, it was a truly international effort. Not only was this one of the first centerfire cartridge handguns, it was also one of the first to really speed up the process of loading and unloading. A lever, which doubles as a trigger guard, slides the barrel and cylinder forward. An extractor plate stops partway forward, essentially holding the cartridges or fired cases in place while the lever pulls the cylinder forward and off of them. Quite clever.Originally developed and sold to the French military, the Russians took interest in the Galand design after the Franco-Prussian War, and Galand licensed his design to Nagant for sale to the Imperial Navy. Blade and notch sights, with "JUAN ULISES CANCELA" on the top flat in "GOLD" leaf. Vine and leaf scrollwork pattern in "SILVER" & GOLD"on the cylinder . Has the signature sliding barrel and mobile extractor ring. Fitted with a pair of , "ANTIQUE IVORY GRIPS" and a lanyard swivel. Condition is very good showing faded bluing and worn plated finish with bright edge wear, mild spotting and scattered handling marks. The grips are also solid with age checks. Mechanically functions fine. Buyer pays $20.00 shipping to lower 48 states. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check. Will accept Personal Check, with shipping hold. 3% Credit Card Fee! Three day, non-firing, non-disassembly, inspection period. If returned, for any reason, full refund, less shipping. Layaway Available! One third down, balance on or before end of 90 days.
