Mid-CIVIL WAR Antique E.A. PRESCOTT BELT Model SINGLE ACTION Revolver
VERY SCARCE; Roughly 1 of 300 Made!
Description: Mid-CIVIL WAR Antique E.A. PRESCOTT BELT Model SINGLE ACTION Revolver VERY SCARCE; Roughly 1 of 300 Made! Here we present an E. A. Prescott Belt Revolver in .32 rimfire, made circa 1862 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This hard to find revolver was manufactured circa 1861 to 1863 with an estimated total production of only a few hundred. Next to the Allen and Wheelock .44 Lipfire, the Prescott is one of the largest and earliest full sized rimfire cartridge revolvers produced during the American Civil War. The left barrel flat is marked "E.A. PRESCOTT, WORCESTER, MASS./PAT. OCT. 2 1860". The barrel and cylinder are finished blue, the frame and trigger guard are brass that was once nickel plated, and the revolver is fitted with smooth varnished two-piece walnut grips. Prescott revolvers were infringements on the Rollin White patent and the production of this and other Prescott models were stopped through legal action by Smith & Wesson. Some of these revolvers were known to be carried by Union officers and enlisted men as personal sidearms. The overall condition is good. Patina throughout. The action (hammer/trigger) is strong. The cylinder revolves but is not quite in time (does not quite make it to lockup without help). The bore is patinated and has some pitting about midway; rifling is decent. The left grip is original while the right is an old handmade replacement. A scarce piece! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 5 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1500 #227655 SOLD Antique: Yes |
