Description: The Moores Patent Teat-Fire revolver represents one of the most innovative and unusual cartridge systems in American firearms history. Developed by Daniel Moore and manufactured by the National Arms Company, this unique front-loading design used proprietary teat-fire cartridges that were loaded from the front of the cylinder, creating a fascinating chapter in the evolution of American revolvers during the Civil War era.
This very fine 2nd Model example features the distinctive small cartridge retainer that characterizes this variant. Beautiful silver washed engraved frame, cylinder, and barrel retain much of their original finish, showcasing the quality craftsmanship of the National Arms Company. Varnished 2-piece grips remain in excellent condition and the revolver functions mechanically fine throughout.
