RARE Cup-Fire Antique CONNECTICUT .28 Revolver Unique Smith & Wesson Patent Workaround; 1 of 2700!
Description: RARE Cup-Fire Antique CONNECTICUT .28 Revolver Unique Smith & Wesson Patent Workaround; 1 of 2700! Here we present an antique Connecticut Arms Co. Pocket Revolver. This gorgeous little pistol was only 1 of 2,700 and was made around the time of the American Civil War in Norfolk, Connecticut. The uniqueness of this revolver is all due to the Rollin-White Patent held exclusively by Smith & Wesson for a completely bored through cylinder. Without the ability to completely bore through a cylinder, designing a good cartridge revolver was nearly impossible, but some tried. This design is known as cup primed and would be loaded with a cartridge from the front of the cylinder. The little lever on the right exterior of the frame is a manual ejector that could slip into a slot at the rear of the cylinder for each chamber to push the empty cartridge forward and out of the cylinder. This piece is a very rare example of an already rare firearm. The feature that makes this gun so scarce is the 2-line patent address on the cylinder. This gun is highly collectible. It was made to be a work-around of the Smith & Wesson but does bear some aesthetic resemblance to the S&W No. 1. The overall condition is very fine. 93% of the silver and blued finish remains. The markings are clear. The rosewood grips are in fine shape. The bore is in very good condition with sharp rifling. The action is excellent. Add this exceedingly rare developmental revolver to your collection! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .28 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #190476 SOLD Antique: Yes |
