SCARCE Antique LEOPOLD GASSER Model 1870 DA CAVALRY Revolver AUSTRIAN MADE
Austro-Hungarian Cavalry Revolver Made in Vienna
Description: SCARCE Antique LEOPOLD GASSER Model 1870 DA CAVALRY Revolver AUSTRIAN MADE Austro-Hungarian Cavalry Revolver Made in Vienna Here we present an antique Leopold Gasser Model 1870 Double Action Revolver, made circa 1880 in Vienna, Austria. The Gasser Model 1870 Army Service revolver was the standard sidearm of cavalry units in service to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Leopold Gasser had been a gunsmith and designer for years before achieving true financial success with this revolver. Gasser owned several factories that were dedicated to the production of handguns and supplied thousands for both military and civilian use. These guns are proven quite scarce and have become a hard to come by collector’s item. After Gasser died, the company was headed by his brother to which the name was changed to “Rast & Gasser”. The most notable thing regarding its appearance was the use of an “open-frame” describing how there was no structural bridge spanning across the cylinder. This revolver was considered “in service” from its inception in 1870 through 1898, although it did see limited service early in World War I. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish. The action is excellent. The safety does not function properly. Bright bore with strong rifling. Legible markings. Good grips contain sharp checkering. Numbers match. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/8 inches. Caliber: 11.3mm Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #233177 SOLD Antique: Yes |
